Matthias S. Krüger (*1980, Germany) studied composition with York Höller, Frédéric Durieux, Georg Friedrich Haas and Erik Oña, piano and conducting at Cologne, Paris, Frankfurt/M. and Basel. In 2010/11 he was committed as a guest lecturer at the universitiy of arts at Graz (Autria). Among others he got scholarships of the „Studienstiftung des dt. Volkes“ and the DAAD. He achieved numerous awards, for example of the Darmstadt Summer Courses 2002, the „Festival Ensemblia Mönchengladbach“ 2003, the „Krefelder Tage Neuer Musik“ 2013 and the „Karlsruher Kompositionswettbewerb“ 2014, and invitations to the „7. Nachwuchsforum“ of the Ensemble Modern and to the „Tremplin“ of the Ensemble Intercontemporain/ IRCAM 2006/07.

Performances for example at the Abbaye Royaumont, Konzerthaus Berlin, Budapest Music Center, Salle Cortot as well as at the IRCAM/Centre Pompidou – „Festival Agora“ Paris, ZKM Karlsruhe, Darmstadt Summer Courses, the festivals „ZeitGenuss“ Karlsruhe, „Ensemblia“ Mönchengladbach and Schwetzinger Festspiele.

Thereby he collaborated with Susanna Mälkki, Pascal Gallois, Jürg Henneberger, Johannes Kalitzke, Stephan Schmidt, Johannes Schwarz, Mike Svoboda, Peter Veale, Scott Voyles, Bernhard Wambach and Marcus Weiss among others, with the Ensemble Intercontemporain, Ensemble Modern, Ensemble Phoenix Basel, Lebanese Philharmonic Orchestra Beirut, musikFabrik NRW, Orlando di Lasso Ensemble, Polish Chamber Philharmonic Orchestra and Radio Symphony Orchestra Stuttgart (SWR).

Broadcasting and television production among others with the BR, DLF, HR, SWR, WDR, ZDF info as well as with Radio France.

His compositions are published at BabelScores Paris and at the Simon-Verlag Berlin.
