Pablo Araya

Bachelor and Professor in Musical Composition from the National University of Córdoba (UNC). Doctor in Arts (music) from the same university under the direction of Andrés Barrea (UNC-FAMAF-CONICET) and Julio Estrada (ENM-UNAM). Specializations in Argentina, Mexico and Germany with composers such as Julio Estrada, Juan C. Tolosa, Marcos Franciosi, Gabriel Valverde, Pierluigi Billone, Georges Aperghis, C.S. Mahnkopf, Brian Ferneyhough, Horacio Vaggione, Jean Claude Risset, Mark André, Michael Maierhof, Dai Fujikura, Wolfgang Rihm, etc.  He has received scholarships from CONICET, the "Postgraduate Secretariat of the UNC", the "Centro de Estudios Latinoamericano de Formación Interdisciplinaria" (CELFI) and the "Fondo Nacional de las Artes" (FNA). He has published in specialised journals in Argentina and Mexico. He was recently invited by the "Instituto Nacional de Musicología - Carlos Vega" and by the "SUICREA-UNAM-Simposio Internacional Meta-Xenakis" to give lectures. His music was performed in Argentina, Latvia, Spain and Germany. He worked with different soloists and ensembles: David Núñez (Ven), Beatrix Wagner (Al), Émilie Girard-Charest (Can), Eduardo Spinelli (Arg),Cuarteto de Cuerdas de la UNTREF (Arg), MEI flutes (Arg), Orquesta Sinfónica de la UNC (Arg), Ensemble Reflexion K (Al), etc. Founder and co-artistic director of the "Micro-Jornadas de Composición y Música Contemporánea" since 2010. Commissions from "ConDiT" (Bs. As.), "ArtHaus Foundation" (Bs. As.), etc. He currently teaches "Musical Analysis, Didactic of Music, Research Seminars and Harmony" at the "Escuela Superior de Música nº 6003 - José Lo Giúdice" (Salta-Arg).
