Alfred Jimenez is a contemporary music composer and thinker whose artistic approach often stems from the foundation of silence, which he views as a physical material that requires great effort to transform into sound. He strives to create music that showcases the performer's struggle between freedom and strain, generating a universe of contrasting emotions. Alfred received his master's degree from Malmö Academy of Music under the guidance of Prof. Luca Francesconi and later completed his studies at Universität fur Musik und Darstellende Kunst in Vienna under the tutelage of Prof. Detlev Müller-Siemens.

Alfred is currently a Ph.D. Candidate at Berkeley, University of California, and is pursuing his Ph.D. in music under the mentorship of Prof. Ken Ueno, Prof. Edmund Campion, Prof. Cindy Cox and Prof. Carmine Cella.

Alfred has worked with numerous ensembles and orchestras, including Avanti! (FI), Auditivvokal Dresden (DE), Norrköping Symphony Orchestra (SE), Antwerpen Symphony Orchestra (BE), Helsingborg Symphony Orchestra (SE), Flower City Brass (US), Musica Vitae (SE), Fontana Mix Ensemble (IT), Kreutzer Quartet (UK), Ensemble Boswil (CH), Ensemble Nordlys (DK), and Norrbotten Neo (SE). His contributions to music have earned him a range of prestigious scholarships and awards, including those from The Royal Swedish Academy of Music, Helge Ax:son Johnson Foundation, Sten K John's Foundation, Sixten Gemzeus Foundation, Anna Whitlocks Foundation, and the Society of Swedish Composers scholarship.
