Composer David Coll

Category:
Chamber Group (2 - 4 instruments)

Description :

The title refers to a specific period in the life of abstract expressionist painter Joan Mitchell. After many years of experimentation, she discovered certain things that she decided to rest upon for a certain time, before moving on; superimposing absence with white paint onto the image, rotating the canvas to see results not originally expected, allowing ones own compositional process to be evident in the result, among other less perceptible explorations.
The experimentation didn’t end of course, it just became more personal. The result was a temporary clarity for a desired period of time.
