Matthias S. Krüger (born 1980 in Germany) studied composition with York Höller and piano at the HfM Cologne as well as composition and electroacoustical composition at the IRCAM and at the Conservatoire de Paris (CNSMDP) with Frédéric Durieux. 2005 – 2009 conducting studies at the HfMDK Frankfurt/M with Prof. Wojciech Rajski. Since 2009 postgradual studies (MA SP) at the music academy Basel in composition with Georg Friedrich Haas, electroacoustical composition with Erik Oña and music theory with Qiming Yuan.
Numerous masterclasses for composition and conducting.
2007 - 2010 he taught electroacoustical composition and conducting at the HfMDK Frankfurt/M. currently he is committed as a guest lecturer for contemporary music at the universitiy of arts at Graz in Austria.
Among others he was scholarship holder of the „Studienstiftung des deutschen Volkes“, the Sokrates/Erasmus networks, the Darmstadt Summer Courses, the „Experimentalstudio für akustische Kunst“, the Mozart-foundation Frankfurt/M. and currently the DAAD. He was awarded numerous prizes, for example the scholarship prize of the Darmstadt summer courses 2002 or in 2003 the composition prize of the “Ensemblia Mönchengladbach“ and the cultural award of the city Rottweil. He participated in the „7. Nachwuchsforum“ of GNM and the Ensemble Modern and in the „Tremplin“ 2006/2007 of the Ensemble Intercontemporain and the IRCAM.
As composer and conductor in Germany and abroad, for example at the Darmstadt Summer Courses, the Davos Festival, the Off-program "Next Generation“ of the Donaueschinger Musiktage, the Ensemblia Mönchengladbach, in Berlin (Konzerthaus), Paris (Salle Cortot, IRCAM/Centre Pompidou – Festival Agora) and Tehran (Vahdad Hall) he worked together among others with Susanna Mälkki, Hille Perl – Lee Santana and the Sirius Viols, Pascal Gallois, Jürg Henneberger, Johannes Kalitzke and Peter Veale, with the Ensemble Intercontemporain, the Ensemble Modern, the Ensemble Phoenix Basel, the musikFabrik NRW, the Orlando di Lasso Ensemble, the Polish Chamber Philharmonic Orchestra, the soloists ensemble of the Darmstadt Summer Courses and with the Tehran Symphony Orchestra.
Broadcasting and television production among others with the BR, DLF, HR, SWR, WDR, ZDF info as well as with Radio France.
