Beltrán Gonzalez

Beltrán Gonzalez is a Buenos Aires born composer and conductor. After finishing his conducting diploma in Argentina (UNLP), he moved to Berlin in order to continue his education in the field of contemporary music, studying at Universität der Künste-Berlin and at Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique et Danse de Paris. 

He has participated and performed in several festivals, including Music Biennale Zagreb, Accademia Chigiana, Impuls-Graz, Podium Esslingen, Performing Arts Festival Berlin, DistatTerra, MehrlichtMusik!, crescendo 2021, Festival de Música de Campos do Jordao, Mixtur Festival, Monat der Zeitgenössischen Musik 2021 and Nordic Saxophone Festival.

His works have been performed by Riot Ensemble, Black Page Orchestra, Vertixe Sonora, Broken Frames Syndicate, Brandenburgisches Staatsorchester, Sonar Quartet, Quartetto Prometteo, Klangforum Wien (reading sessions), Ensemble ilinx, Quartetto Maurice, FontanaMix & The Present Ensemble between others. He is co-founder and conductor of Kollektiv Unruhe, a Berlin-based new music group.

As a conductor he has collaborated with the Mar del Plata Symphonic Orchestra, Entre Rios State Orchestra, Tucuman State Orchestra, University of Tucumán Orchestra, Vertixe Sonora, Kollektiv Unruhe, FontanaMix & Ensemble ilinx between others. 

He has received commissions from Ensemble Ascolta, Ensamble Neo, Vertixe Sonora, The Present Vocal Ensemble, FontanaMix, & Kollektiv Unruhe.

He has been awarded with scholarships from Musikfonds e.V. in two occasions; Argentinean Mozarteum; Fondo Nacional de las Artes-Argentina, and the Ad Infinitum/Lucia Löser/DAAD Stiftungen.

In his compositions he frequently combines anthropological/geographical/linguistic materials with purely instrumental elements aiming to an essayistic music, that can provide a new glance to often forgotten aspects of contemporary life
