Maya Lekovic

Maya Lekovic is born in Belgrade (Serbia) and currently she is living in
Amsterdam (The Netherlands).

She did her master studies in composition at the Conservatorium van
Amsterdam (The Netherlands).

Her music was played on many festivals and she has performed the piano and
sang in Serbia, The Netherlands, United Kingdom, Italy, Germany, Lithuania.
Some of the festivals she has participated in are:
Gaudeamus Music Week (2008 NL), IV Biennale of Young Artists from Europe
and Mediterran (2008 IT.) : Music Laboratory Network The Process (2009
Vilnius Lithuania) :Berlinale Talent Campus (2010 Berlin, Germany).

At the festival “Young Composers Meeting” (Apeldoorn, NL 2008), she won
the prize for the best piece “Pepper Store” and in 2011. she was nominated
for the Henriëtte Bosmans en de Tera de Marez Oyens Prize.

As she was always interested in the film and theatre, she wrote the music for
a few films, documentaries, TV shows and theatre plays. Some of them won
awards on a prestigious film festivals.

Maya was commissioned to write for many ensembles including De Ereprijs,
Loos Ensemble, Rosa sub Rosa Ensemble, Nieuw Ensemble and Trio Vitebsk.
