Paul Fake

Paul Fake (b. 1987) is a professional composer living in East Lansing, MI. He holds both an MM and a BM in Composition from The Boston Conservatory, where he studied with Marti Epstein, Curtis K. Hughes, Andy Vores, and Dr. Eun Young Lee. Upon graduating, Fake was awarded the Roger Sessions Memorial Composition Award and the Alumni Award for Academic Achievement. In 2014, Boston's WCRB radio station selected his composition for their sound logo, and it is heard by thousands of listeners every day. He was also selected as winner of The Boston Conservatory Women's Chorus Composition Competition in 2014 for his piece Twelve Days, and as winner of The Boston Conservatory Bass Clarinet Composition Competition in 2015 for his piece Boronea. His works have been performed by numerous ensembles, including Ludovico Ensemble, The Boston Conservatory Composer's Orchestra directed by Eric Hewitt, and The Boston Conservatory Women's Chorus directed by Beth Willer.
Fake also holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Engineering from California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo, where he graduated magna cum laude in 2010. In his spare time, he works as both a full-stack web developer and a photographer.
