Ondrej Adamek (born 1979 in Prague) graduated from the composition department of the Academy of Music in Prague in 2004 and of the Conservatoire National Superieur in Paris in 2007. His music was awarded the Prize Synthèse (Bourges 2002), Metamorphose (Brussels 2002, 2004), First Prize of Hungarian Radio, the Brandenburg Biennale price (2006), the Prix Hervé-Dugardi - SACEM (2009) and the Grand Prix of Tansman (Lodz 2010). He composes orchestral, chamber, vocal and electro-acoustic music and he works with choreographers of contemporary dance. Recently, he wrote pieces for Percussionists de Strasbourg, Brandenburg Sinfoniker, Lucerne Academy Orchestra (premier conducted by Pierre Boulez) Klangforum ensemble nad Diotima sitrng quartet. His piece Nôise was performed by Ensemble Intercontemporain in Paris in February 2010. His actual projects are for Ensemble Orchestral Contemporain, Ensemble Intercontemporain and ensemble 2e2m. His music was played in festival in Witten (Germany), Agora Festival (IRCAM, Paris, France), Ars Musica (Liège, Belgieum), Les Musique (GMEM, Marseille, France), Warsaw Autumn (Poland) and Donaueschinger Musiktagen (Germany). In his musical language he combines elements of contemporary classical music with transformed musical elements of distant cultures. The simplicity of musical expression corresponds in his works with a thoroughly elaborate colours of sounds. In these days, he is the guest of DAAD culture program in Berlin.
