Joan Gómez Alemany (1990, Valencia. Spain) studied composition with Clemens Gadenstätter in the Kunst Universität Graz (KUG) and previously with Oliver Rappoport in the Liceu Conservatory (Barcelona). He also holds a degree in piano and fine arts in the University UPV (Valencia), specializing in cinema and painting. He received private lessons with composers Mark Andre, Pierluigi Billone, Raphaël Cendo, Brian Ferneyhough, Ashley Fure, Dmitri Kourliandski, Michael Maierhof, Hèctor Parra, Alberto Posadas, Stefan Prins, Yann Robin, Rebecca Saunders, Mauricio Sotelo, among others.

His pieces were played and premiered in Festivals such as the Darmstädter Ferienkurse, Impuls, ManiFeste-IRCAM, reMusik, Ensems, Mixtur, Barcelona Modern, etc. His work was interpreted by orchestras like SWR conducted by Gregor A. Mayrhofer and JOGV with Pablo Rus Broseta. Ensembles and solists like Nikel, Multilatérale, Schallfed, Adapter, Szene Intrumental, International Ensemble Modern Academy (IEMA), Container, PARCOURS, BCN216, Josep Lluís Galiana, Arturo Barba Sevillano, etc. Some works were broadcasted by SWR, ÖRF, À Punt Ràdio, UNDAE Círculo Bellas Artes, etc. His music is published by label Liquen Records and his scores by BabelSCORES.

He combines musical creation together with cinema and visual arts mixing disciplines. His first long film De rerum natura was premiered in UPV. His second long film in preparation Temps i espai. Un dia s'eleva 2018-2021, with the painter Josep-Marí Gómez Lozano will be premiered in Filmoteca de Valencia in collaboration with the Exhibition Hall of the City Council of Valencia. He has made his first solo exhibition with graphic scores, videos and photographs entitled Between the visual and the sound. Reappropriation of matter and material in La Posta Foundation. His work has been seen and heard in museums such as the Georges Pompidou, IVAM, Center del Carme Cultura Contemporània, etc.
