Marcelo F. Lazcano (b. 1977) is a composer and guitarist born in Valparaíso, Chile. 

His music explores the creative possibilities of speech and movement as an integral part of the compositional process and the effects these have on the interpreter and audience’s perception. Due to the tense political climate in his native country of Chile, F. Lazcano is looking to address the topics of social injustice. As a scholar, Marcelo F. Lazcano has lectured on his research on Music Perception at Universities in Valparaíso, Chile, and was invited as a panelist to the Royal Conservatory of Antwerp. 

F. Lazcano earned an Associate’s Degree in guitar performance from Musicians Institute, a Bachelor’s and a Master’s degree in Music Composition from the California State University Northridge, and a Ph.D. in Music from the University of California San Diego.
