Notes on this piece
Escondites para el Viento is a composition for fixed electronics and an improvised piano part. This part has no score and any pianist can play it with any concept or approach provided that the fixed electronic part (which consists of 5 small pieces of different lenght) is respected in its sound and order. In the recording version I provide, the piano improvisation was done by Ana Foutel, experimental pianist from Argentina. "Escondites para el Viento" ("Places for the Wind to Hide") is comprised of five mixed electroacoustic pieces inspired by the organic designs of Iranian architect Zaha Hadid (her "Cirrus" illustrates the video). Each piece was named after a Hadid's object as a small homage to her ideas on materials, curves, fragmentation, abstraction and form. The title of the piece expresses my hopes to have music (movement) and architecture (space) constitute a single poetic gesture. The pieces may be listened to in one breath or as independent compositions.

The fixed electronic part is all it is required to perform this piece. Since there is no score, any pianist can play it improvising a part on each section.
