Notes on this piece

During a long wait in Dublin airport, I thought about the Enlightenment debate about the origin of music as a rational imitation of nature. Absorbed in so “natural” and “artificial” noise, I considered the possibility of a renewed imitatio as a source of musical construction, that is, a way designed from four multiphonic sounds, meaningful of a “natural” sonority of “artificial” development, like that historical product called “musical instrument”. Supported by the idea of Lence-Edra's “artificial grammar”, I willed to undertook a timbrical and a harmonic image through different treatments of the instrumental set.

"Dublin lounge" was finalist of Ninth Edition of the International Composition Competition "Città di Udine" in 2012.
