Innesco

Innesco, for cello and percussion, consists of five possibilities of symbiotic interaction, gradually diluting the possibility of distinguishing sound sources. The cello dialogues alternately with marimba, snare drum, wood blocks, wood temple blocks, temple bells, Thai gongs and cuíca. Movements II and V are partially improvised, but they are also available in fully written versions (in both cases, performers must choose one of the two versions to perform). Games of action and reaction, in different degrees of predictability, trigger brief speeches as reflections of the modes of sustainment of a kind of expanded instrument.
