fallen

fallen is a comparatively short solo piece for piano which was originally intended for a stage production with dance, but never made it into the final project. The music is rather challenging, with some connections to ragtime or even free-jazz, as well as some similarities with minimal music. The implications of the title, "falling" in English, do not as much transfer to the music itself - the piece is not an attempt to emulate the process or act of falling - but are present rather in a sense of potential chaos, of losing control. It should be a good addition to any concert programme, as it is an effective, captivating piece with some bravado.
