6. Streichquartett

This piece was composed in CORONA times directly after the inspiring premiere of the predecessor piece „ em 40 ”, a version of the same musical text for flute or soprano sax with string quartet, premiered by the ensemble modern in 2020 in Frankfurt. I pondered about a possibility of composing a version for string quartet alone, and I interweaved the flute resp. sax part into the string section. This gives a kind of very virtuous version for strings, of course. But it should be playable.

Since I cannot offer the string quartet version so far, the „ em 40 ” ensemble modern version with flute and strings could be heard as reference.

Around 2017/18 I discussed with my friend Frank Pschichholz, a guitarist from Görlitz, possibilities to come close to the philosopher Jakob Böhme from Görlitz, and we contemplated musical possibilities to achieve this. There is a first ensemble piece by me from 2018 for sopano and ensemble: "...wohlgestimmete gebärende Harmoney" - Annäherungen an Jacob Böhme, commissioned by the „ Internationale Jacob Böhme-Gesellschaft ”.

In the 6th quartet I follow this Böhme line with its introverted tonality.
