Of Flight and Darkness is a contemporary chamber work using proportional notation, chance operations as well as extended techniques. All of the musicians read directly from the general score so they can see where they are playing in relation to the other instruments, thereby facilitating their coordination. The two ensembles should be located on opposite sides of the acoustic space and the piece is intended as very dramatic.
