Notes on this piece
True Devils Chronology
This piece is sort of like a pop song that is subject to temporal shifts and textural perforation. There are also dueling lead singers dodging and chasing a burly and surly, but sullen, rhythm section. The bridge is the factor that makes the last verse kind of a sketchy memory for all involved. Only it doesn’t sound like pop music at all. These are the “lyrics” (you won’t actually hear them in the piece): “They say the devil is in the detail. The details of memories can overtake the perception of time. Our psychic clock skips forward and back and somehow the numbers and the face do not share a plane. As if each hour does not know the others. But still we move on in vague acknowledgement of our own accumulation.”
