Notes on this piece

Commissionned by the Orquesta Filarmónica de Rio Negro, premiered in Cipoletti and Général Roca the 26 th and 27 th august 2022.

Oscar Albrieu, percussion and Rut Schereiner, conducting.

Oruga means Caterpillar, and, as in English, there is an other signification attached concerning the vehicle : a Caterpillar track.

The only image a I kept in mind as well for the animal and the track, is an irregular but constant motion, a sort of granulation of time in several steps, as the wood plates of the Bass Marimba.

The work, divided in four movements, was composed before the title suggestion and keeping in mind music is just music.

Circa 17 min.
