Notes on this piece

Incandescence is a physical phenomenon manifested by the emission of light due to the high temperature of a heated body. For the human eye, the matter looks static despite the great agitation of the molecules emitting the light. Following this analogy, Incandescent questions the notion of "statism" as a musical abstraction that we create from the lack of new musical information at a given moment, despite the complexity of the many elements already present. Sometimes through a (simple) fermata on a tone played by the flute, or sometimes through an orchestrated chaos that seems to go nowhere, Incandescent is conceived as a game of perception where the public has to figure out whether the musical discourse is evolving or not.
