The most usual meaning can be translated as a “thanksgiving hymn” or “thanksgiving sacrifice”. Other possible meaning is “confession”.
This work belongs to a group of three works (Timshel, Hokmah, Towdah) and a fourth one will be composed soon.
Timshel relates to our possibility of choosing between good and evil.
Hokmah relates with the wisdom needed to make the right choice.
Towdah relates with the thanksgiving prayer for the correct choices made, and the regret and confession for the wrong choices.
This work was commissioned by the Contemporary Music Group of Lisbon and received the first prize at the Keyedup Competition, organized by the Alvarez Chamber Orchestra (UK).
Electronic part was done at the composer’s studio.
