Notes on this piece
Buddha says: 'Life is a Dream, while there is no Dreamer'.....The sounds that were used in this piece are mainly from saxophone itself (including saxophones of different sizes and with different playing modes) together with recorded sound from the nature and animals... In the solo saxophone part, I have used voice to combine with the original instrumental sound to make a more complex sound texture presented by the forms of unison, multiphony or polyphony....On the technique side, I have mainly worked with Max/Msp (both on the sound files and on live) and Audiosculpt for the transformation of the sounds(at the same time I try to keep the sounds themself as "nature" as possible.). Spatialization is also an important working point for this piece. The piece was realised at Ircam in Paris.
