Notes on this piece

Antanáklasi is a series of works for solo and electronic instruments inspired by the painting "Al espejo" of the Argentine painter and illustrator Gabriela Aberastury. The title Antanáklasi means reflection in Greek.

Antanáklasi I (2019) is the first piece of the cycle for flute and electronics. In the painting "Al espejo" we can see a vertical axis that divides the painting into two different parts, without knowing what the object is and the reflection in the visual composition. One side contains prismatic structures oriented in different directions, this being a more three-dimensional space. On the contrary, the other side is built by unpredictable two-dimensional lines with some meeting points between them. In a way, this is also expressed in music through imitation, for example, materials that are played by the flute that are processed after electronics. On the other hand, with the idea of changing roles, when a reflective object becomes a reflection and vice versa.
