Tonality Diamond
für Sopran und Harfe in Skordatur

György Ligeti, zu dessen erstem Todestag am 28. Mai 2007 das Werk komponiert wurde, war fasziniert von dem "Just Intonation"-Konzept von Harry Partch. Partch erfand den quadratisch als Raute gezeichneten "Tonality Diamond" mit naturreinen Intervallen in Ober- und Untertonreihen.

Mein Duo nutzt eine 21-Ton Skordatur der Harfe, die große Terzen ("5/4" bei Partch) und kleine Septen ("7/4") über- und untereinander schichtet. Der Sopran folgt diesen Tonhöhen mit einem Text von Daniil Charms:

Kleines Lied
Einst ging ein Mensch aus seinem Haus
in Mantel Stock und Hut.
Lang ist der Weg,
lang ist der Weg,
der vor ihm auf sich tut.

Er ging und schritt geradeaus
und schaute nicht beiseit.
Nicht schlief nicht trank,
nicht trank nicht schlief
er gestern, morgen, heut.

Und eines Tags im Morgengraun
