Program note
'War cry' for soprano is a solo series of Han's Music and inspired by the life of
Susan B. Anthony who was an American social reformer and women's rights activist.
To commemorate her vision is connected to severe social events for peace in
many reasons, a part of her speech is used as lyrics, which give a foundation of the piece.
Lyrics, started from incomplete, symbolized imperfect human beings, words are
crafted with interaction of each musical material, timbre, texture with hope for
reconciliation in our catastrophic time.
