Claudia Jane Scroccaro is an Italian composer based in Paris, where she teaches Formalisation, Computer-Aided Composition, and Electronic Music at IRCAM.

Her music oscillates between two extreme temporalities, alternating between overflowing rhythms derived from music of oral tradition and immersive, introspective explorations interwoven with the expressiveness of the spoken voice, projecting the listener into immersive stage-works.

Supported by the DAAD, she studied composition and electronic music with Marco Stroppa at the HMDK Stuttgart, while attending masterclasses held by Philippe Leroux and Franck Bedrossian.

Her music has been performed internationally by ensembles such as Ensemble Musikfabrik, SWR Vokalensemble, Ensemble Linea, Talea Ensemble, Ensemble Ascolta, Ensemble 2e2m, and by soloists such as Johanna Vargas, Florentin Ginot, and Jana Luksts, in collaboration with IRCAM ManiFeste, Donaueschinger Musiktage, Eclat Festival, France Musique, Fondation Royaumont, Der Sommer in Stuttgart, among others.

She is currently a Fellow of the Villa Medici in Rome.
