Maj Brinovec, born 2003, is a composer and saxophonist. After studying saxophone with Professor Matjaž Škoberne and music theory with Professor Dr. Peter Urek at the Krško Music School he graduated in saxophone performance and music theory from the Ljubljana Conservatory of Music and Ballet under the tutelage of Professor Oskar Laznik and Professor Vitja Avsec, respectively. He successfully underwent the entry exam at the Ljubljana Academy of Music, where he is currently pursuing his Bachelor's degree in saxophone under the guidance of Professor Dejan Prešiček and composition in the class of Professor Vito Žuraj. He has also took part in an Erasmus+ mobility exchange program at the University of Split in the class of the Croatian saxophonist and composer Gordan Tudor.
Throughout his studies, he has taken part in several saxophone competitions and has been awarded top prizes. He has also performed as a soloist, chamber musician, and orchestral player in numerous concerts and recitals. Additionally, he has continued to expand his skills by participating in saxophone masterclasses with renowned professors. As an active composer, he has had the pleasure of having his works performed at public concerts in Slovenia, Hungary, Italy, Poland and Croatia.
