Carolina Noguera Palau is a Colombian composer living in Birmingham, U.K. She studied piano with Alba Estrada, Svetlana Korjenko, Marjorie Tanaka and Verónica Ramírez at Conservatorio Antonio María Valencia in Cali and composition with Guillermo Gaviria at Pontificia Universidad Javeriana in Bogotá. She was granted a MMus with distinction at Birmingham Conservatoire, supervised by Richard Causton and Lamberto Coccioli. She is currently attending a PhD in Composition with the same tutors, in the same institution. Carolina is a Composition lecturer at Birmingham Conservatoire and she has also lectured at the Music Department at Pontificia Universidad Javeriana and Universidad de Cundinamarca in Colombia.

Her music has been performed in different auditoriums, radio and open spaces in Colombia, Denmark, Britain and the United States by outstanding ensembles such as deciBelio, contemporanea, Curious Chamber Players, Cuarteto Manolov and remarkable individual performers such as violist Garth Knox, flutist Shanna Guitiérrez, cellists Mintcho Badev and Robin Michael and pianists Huw Watkins and Karol Bermúdez. Her language has been developed essentially through chamber acoustic ensembles and its aim is to captivate the strength of her autochthonous rows at different levels of explicitness. In order to do so, she combines different experimental techniques of process transformation.
