Djordje Marković is a composer and performer from Novi Sad (Serbia). He studied at the Academy of Arts at the University of Novi Sad where he obtained his B.A. and M.A. degrees in composition. He also studied Philosophy at the same university, graduated in Aesthetics and Philosophy of Music, and completed Postgraduate studies in Composition at Kunstuniversität Graz with Beat Furrer.

He attended lessons, master classes and courses with composers who helped him to refine a personal way of thinking, among them: Alberto Posadas, Wolfgang Heiniger, Franck Bedrossian, Raphaël Cendo, Mark Andre, Tristan Murail, Clemens Gadenstätter, Isabel Mundry, Dmitri Kourliandski, Klaus Lang, Pierluigi Billone, Dieter Ammann, Dimitri Papageorgiou, Yuri Kasparov.

His works have been performed at Showroom of Contemporary Sound in Zagreb, Kings Place Festival in London, Dimitria fest in Thessaloniki, Crossroads in Salzburg, Rainy Days in Luxembourg, Contrasti in Trento (Italy), Impuls in Graz, MIXTUR in Barcelona, OutHear New Music Week in Larissa (Greece), reMusik in Sankt Petersburg (Russia), the University of Northern Iowa New Music Festival (USA), International Review of Composers and KoMA in Belgrade, Afest in Novi Sad and FEMUS in Subotica (Serbia), then in Cultural Center of Serbia in Paris, Kresge Theatre in Pittsburgh, (Pennsylvania, USA), Southsite in Hong Kong, Weidner Center for the Performing Arts in Green Bay, (Wisconsin, USA), CICUS Sevilla (Spain), Ljubljana Town Hall (Slovenia), G. Tartini Conservatory of Music, Trieste (Italy), Concert Hall of Banja Luka (BH) and numerous local concerts throughout Serbia.    

His music has been performed by London Sinfonietta (UK), ensemble Nikel (Israel/Austria), ensemble DissonArt (Greece), ensemble United Instruments of Lucilin (Luxemburg), ensemble Synaesthesis (Litauenia), Klangforum Wien and PPCM (Austria), MotoContrario (Italy), Aleph Gitarrenquartett (Germany), Moscow Contemporary Music Ensemble (Russia), Vertixe Sonora (Spain), Ensemble Studio 6 (Serbia), St. George's Strings (Serbia), etc. 

His pieces have been chosen in numerous international Call for Scores, and he is a laureate of the Rudolf Brucci National Competition of Composition (Serbia, 2015), the London Sinfonietta international contest Postal Pieces (UK, 2013), Tasselat international competition contest (USA, 2019).
