Born in 1999, in İzmir. Toykan Efe Kahraman studied Piano at Işılay Saygın Fine Arts School between 2013-17. Following his graduation, he continued his studies in composition with Mehmet Can Özer at Yaşar University - İzmir.
Toykan’s works recently have been performed in various festivals such as International Cappadocia "Composers Cauldron" (2018), Sesin Yolculuğu Young Composers Festival - İstanbul (2019), VIII.IMCNM Course Contrast Festival - Lviv (2019), and his works have been performed by Ensemble X - New York, Diskant Ensemble - İstanbul, and Ensemble Nostri Temporis - Lviv.
In last two years, he had the opportunity to attend various masterclasses/workshops and had found chance to study with distinguished composers Helena Tulve, Marco Stroppa, Mahir Cetiz, Onur Türkmen, Simon Vosecek, Sławomir Wojciechowski, Sergej Maingardt, Anna Korsun, Dimitris Andrikopoulos, Søren Nils Eichberg and Vassos Nicolaou among others. His works have been read by Agata Igras (Flute), Hezarfen Ensemble members Ulrich Mertin (Viola), Amy Salsgiver (Percussion), Cem Önertürk (Flute); Andra Darzins (Viola), Horia Dumitrache (Clarinet), Jerfi Aji (Piano), Xak Bjerken (Piano).
He was recently awarded a new commission for a Guitar Quartet by IMCNM Contrast Festival - Lviv. He currently continues his studies with Füsun Köksal at Yaşar University - İzmir.
