I was born in 1951 in Örnsköldsvik, Sweden. I studied cello in Härnösand and in Folkwang Hochschule, Essen, Germany. From 1975 until 1978 I played the cello in the orchestra of Stora Teatern, in Gothenburg. I also studied composition with Torsten Sörenson, Sven-Eric Johanson and Rune Lindblad. From 1979 till 1986 I worked as a freelance composer within electroacoustic music and multimedia. After that I studied musicology and philosophy for some years at the University of Gothenburg. 1990-1997 I was editor of the cultural magazine Ny Kultur.

From 2003 to 2019 I was artistic director and producer for Kalvfestivalen, a festival for new music in the village Kalv. I also started Ubbhult Barockfestival, a festival for music from the baroque. I have worked as producer for among others ensemble Gageego!. As a composer I mainly work with chamber music for solo instruments and ensembles. I was elected a member of The Society of Swedish Composers in 1983.

In my compositions I have been working with tonal, modal, 12-tone, serial, aleatoric and algorithmic techniques. I now use my own method, the result of my musical and human experiences. My prime sources of inspiration are baroque music, Balinese gamelan and certain forms of minimalism.
