Zwischen for baritone saxophone, accordion, and cello is a piece centered on a constantly repeated gesture: the transition from inharmonic, instable noise sounds to pure, stable, almost sinusoidal sounds. The aim of the work is to expose and elaborate on the inexpressible area between noise and pitch. By continuously playing on this psychoacoustic border, the work explores the parameters, which define for the listener what gives a sound its perceptual property of pitch.
