Descripción

The line of horizon stretches endlessly—surrounding and engulfing the human being as it subjects one into isolation and dislocation— drowning the soul with the vast expansive space it creates within. One would feel desolation and emptiness within one's existence, as aspirations of happiness and self-fulfillment never fill up such voids. Humanity remains an epitome of imperfection, subject to desolation, unless one sees the path -- a light at the end of the tunnel.

The Book of Ecclesiastes from the Christian Bible talks about life’s meaninglessness. As increasing silences disperse through moments of aural events, deteriorating images of a pursuit to life emerges from the work's poetics: a kind of searching doomed to futility, “a chasing after the wind.” The Tagalog word “gising!” (“wake up!”) punctuates within these spaces, alluding to a reality where the human being remains a deteriorating creation unless one finds the path towards the light.
