Martin Loridan

Martin Loridan graduated from the Paris Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique (CNSMDP). His work has been performed internationally at venues and festivals such as the Gasteig Philharmony (Munich), Barbican centre (London), Mise-En Festival (New York), Unerhörte Musik (Berlin), Impuls Festival (Graz). He has collaborated with ensembles and orchestras such as the Arditti Quartet, the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra, ensemble Mise-en, Klangforum Wien, Quatuor Tana, and soloists such as Claude Delangle, Rohan de Saram and Yumi Suehiro.

He has been awarded prizes in several composition competitions, such as the Reinl Foundation Composition Prize (Vienna), the André Jolivet Prize (Paris), and the Vareler Composition Prize (Berlin). He is also the recipient of prestigious academic grants and awards such as the Stanley Burton Research Scholarship (UK) and was awarded the ‘Villa Salammbô’ artist Residence by the Institut Français of culture (Paris).

He is currently completing his PhD research at the University of Leeds, UK. His research investigates breath (‘Souffle’) as a complex element and multifaceted composition material. His research is funded by the prestigious Leeds Doctoral Scholarship.
