Born in Bogotá, Colombia in 1985, Daniel Alvarado Bonilla begins his musical journey studying the electric and classical guitar. After obtaining his classical guitar degree at the Universidad de los Andes of Bogotá, he enters in 2009, the composition class of Edith Lejet in the École Normale de Musique de Paris. He has also studied with Martín Matalon in the Conservatoire d’Aubervilliers/la Courneuve and has continued his studies with professors Robert Pascal and Philippe Hurel at the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique et Dance de Lyon. From 2014 to 2016 he pursued his master in composition at the Conservatoire National de Musique et de Danse de Paris with professor Stefano Gervasoni. In 2017 - 2018, he attended the Cursus program at IRCAM.

His work has been performed by prestigious soloists and ensembles such as Orchestre de Caen, l'Orchestre des Lauréats du Conservatoire de Paris, Ensemble Alkymia, Ensemble l'Itinéraire, Xenon Saxophone Quartet and the soloists from the Ensemble Intercontemporain.
