Eduardo Loría (Mexico, 1992)
From Toluca City, Mexico. His creative interest focuses on timbre exploration, micro-intervallic and spectral harmony, and the use of concepts borrowed from the plastic arts into his composition, e.g. sound sculpture and perspective.
Currently he participates in the Instrumental Composition master’s program at the University for Music and Dance of Cologne (Hochschule für Musik und Tanz Köln) with professors Miroslav Srnka and Brigitta Muntendorf. He studied the bachelor program at the Art Academy of Florence in Mexico City, where he completed his composition studies with professors Alejandro Castaños and Esteban Chapela.
He has attended to instrumental and electronics composition workshops taught by Ph.D. Marcelo Toledo (Workshop for Young Composers, National Institute of Fine Arts, Mexico City), Ph.D. Ignacio Baca Lobera and Ph.D. Iván Naranjo. His compositions have been performed in Mexico and in Germany by ensembles such as Musikfabrik Ensemble, Liminar Ensemble, CEPROMUSIC Ensemble, and by soloists such as Araceli Salazar, Luis Mora and José Manuel Alcántara.
