Born in Ankara, Turkey in 1987, Emre Sihan Kaleli is a composer currently based in The Netherlands. He obtained his master degree in composition at the Conservatory of Amsterdam, where he studied under the guidance of Wim Henderickx, Willem Jeths, and Richard Ayres.
Before Amsterdam, he completed the undergraduate composition program with distinction at the State Conservatory of Uzbekistan.

During his studies, Emre had the opportunity of having long-term artistic collaborations with the Omnibus Ensemble (Tashkent), Convergence Ensemble (Georgia), and the Nieuw Ensemble (Amsterdam). His music has been performed in a number of prestigious festivals, among others, the Internationale Darmstädter Ferienkurse für Neue Musik (2010), Huddersfield Contemporary Music Festival (2011), Gaudeamus Muziekweek (2012 & 2013) and Wittener Tage für Neue Kammermusik (2013). His work “Il voto dell’innocenza” was awarded with an honorable mention at the Gaudeamus Prize 2013.
