...prepoznaćeš me po sjaju...

While preparing the sound material for ...prepoznaćeš me po sjaju..., I played with the instrument, I touched it, I blew into it, I kissed it (oh yes, I did), I licked it (oh, its nature demands it), I observed my body and its response to it. Very soon I became seduced by the idea of a disabled body, of a body that needs to express itself, a body that has its impulsions, that is driven by its lust and its urge, and yet, of a body that is forced to face the utter impossibility of its own existence.

The final version of ...prepoznaćeš me po sjaju... is a product of an intense collaboration with clarinetist Richard Haynes during which each note was re-thought and each sound re-contextualized in order to find its place in the overall architecture of the work.

The title of the piece appeared to me when I was drunk and high on a fantastic free jazz concert of my cousin’s band in my hometown. It means: ... you will know me by luster...
