Aparecida 2007

This piece for two female voices is the second rewrite of Aparecida (Mastropietro, 1986) and is the third part of a triptych that started with that work. The original piece, Aparecida, was composed by overlapping two duets – one of them being voice and flute, and the other one, voice and violin. Therefore, it is possible either to play the full quartet or play each duet separately. Then, Aparecida 2007 was composed as a third option for playing the original Aparecida: the two voices without instruments.
Aparecida 2007 was written at the request of the Colombian singer Beatriz Elena Martínez.

Aparecida 2007 es la segunda re-escritura de Aparecida (Mastropietro, 1986) y constituye la tercera parte del tríptico iniciado con la obra de 1986. La pieza original, Aparecida , fue concebida como la simultaneidad de dos dúos -voz y flauta, voz y violín- y puede ser interpretada como cuarteto o cada dúo por separado. En este sentido, Aparecida 2007 fue escrita a partir de la inquietud de la cantante colombiana Beatriz Elena Martínez como una nueva opción para interpretar Aparecida : las dos voces sin instrumentos.
