Shoreward

Shoreward is inspired by various vantage points experienced while traversing the shores of Lake Superior.  The unpredictable and diverse terrain serves as a model for several musical elements which are developed through an imitation of different visual perspectives.  Presence and distance are portrayed by rhythms and durations, while various colors and combinations between the horn and piano articulate the corresponding clarities and distortions of the landscape.
