Notes sur cette pièce
NOMÁDICA: During my time as a teacher in residence at the Conservatory of Montreal, Canada in 1998, I soaked up the ideas and customs of the inhabitants of those lands, especially of its ancient inhabitants, nomadic peoples who were not necessarily primitive and were there thousands of years ago . I thought a work in which each orchestral group had its independence and tempo generating a poly-tempo, but as this ensemble had a conductor this had to "do something" so I wanted to integrate it into a "nomadic" dynamic. I put all "tempi" in minimum common multiples so that every 2 minutes every group of musicians coincide so the conductor give a signal, evoking a nomadic movement (at that time I was fascinated by the nomadic thought by Gilles Deleuze) All groups are independent and occasionally have close matches or friendly contacts, exchanges, barter, parties, but they are each independent group with its own identity, with its own cultural face... But I was disappointed that there no was at that time, how to write in a software these "poly-tempos", and I think now is still not possible. That is why this work was left unfinished, I hope to finish it one day.
