France TV video:
Commissioned by Fondation Singer-Polignac and Le Balcon

Ode to the Earth, inspired by the Colombian jungle near which I grew up, and the traditions it protects. A traditional marimba that I brought from the Colombian jungle is played by robotic arms and "plays" and gives to the orchestra souvenirs of traditional music.
I wanted to warmly extend the dialogue between times and worlds that Mahler wrote out of 8th-century Chinese poems.

Sculptures made of stones and hand-blown glass by Marion Flament are also played by robots and they evoke mineral forces which are very present in Mahler's work.

Pre-recorded sounds includes a text by Gonzalo Arango that  also inspired this piece. This text is a melancholic, loving and funny reverie of colombian jungle.
