Oliver Rappoport

Born in Málaga in 1980. He began studying music in San Marcos Sierras, Argentina and Chile at the Univerdad de Chile. In 2000 he returned to Spain and continued composition studies in the ESMuC (Barcelona), CNSMDP (Paris) with Helmut Lachenmann, Agustín Charles, Gabriel Brncic, Luín Naón, and Emmanuel Nunes. In addition he has attended master classes with Jonathan Harvey, José Manuel López López, Mauricio Sotelo among others.
He continued his studies at IRCAM Paris (Cursus), Technische Universität Berlin/UdK/Hanns Eisler (ECMCT) and Kings College London.
He has received grants, prizes and commissions for a variety of instrumental and electroacoustic works.
In 2006 he was awarded 1st prize from SGAE/Fundación Autor in the International Composers Competition, the same year was selected for the 5th Forum for young creation in Paris by SIMC (Société Internationale pour la Musique Contemporaine), in 2007 1st prize from INAEM/Colegio de España Composers Competition, in 2009 he won the Compositors Novells competition and 2010 he won the Franz Liszt-Stipendiat in Weimar, Germany.
Mr. Rappoport has been a composer in residence at CDMC (Centro para la Difusión de la Música Contemporánea), JIC (Jovenes Interpretes de Catalunya), JONDE (Joven Orquesta Nacional de España), Fundación Antonio Gala and Artistic Residency from Mexico, FONCA.
He has been comissioned by PHONOS Foundation, Catedral de Barcelona, Auditorio Nacional (Young Orchestra of France), CDMC, Ensemble BCN 216, Festival Nous Sons,etc....
Addition to his work as a composer, he is artistic director of SONARTEnsemble and Co-Founder of the Col.lectiu Mixtur (Barcelona)
