Henrik Denerin is a Swedish composer and improvising performer. As a composer he has collaborated with many
internationally leading performers and ensembles.

Over the years his music has been performed in Europe, Asia, Australia and North America by ensembles, orchestras and
musicians such as Ensemble Recherche, Ensemble Aleph, Odysseia Ensemble, Curious Chamber Players, Gageego!, Vertixe Sonora
Ensemble, mise-en ensemble, Bit20 Ensemble, Kazuko Ihara, Wrocławscy Kameraliści and Karen Heath among others.

As the Composer in Residence (2015-) with Odysseia Ensemble (Brussels) his work seals I for violin solo and ensemble saw
its premiere in 2015, recent premiere (2016) of Meaning of No Meaning and multiple commissions to come 2017-2018
including the 50 minute long 5 part cycle einbahnstraße and cycle IV, consisting of 11 mini concertinos, from the large scale
work synthetic fragments.

Henrik’s works has been programmed at international festivals for contemporary music including ISCM, Nordic Music days,
Donauechingen, Darmstadt Ferienkurse, Mixtur Festival, Melbourne International Arts Festival, Vertixe Vigo Festival,
Festival d’Aujourd’hui à Demain, Muestra Internacional de Música Electroacústica and others. His music has been
broadcasted on Sveriges Radio P2 (Swedish National Radio), RAI Radiotre, PBS (Australia), SWR, HR, Radio France, Swiss
SRF 2 Kultur, YLE (Finland), VRT (Belgium national radio), Radio Catalunia and Radio Galicia (Spain) as well as Brazilian,
Canadian and Siberian radio stations.

Recent projects (2017) include a new 25 minute piece, OPUS INCERTUM for trombone and percussion commissioned by
Axelsson/Nilsson Duo with support from the Swedish Arts Council, a commission from violinist Roberto Alonso Trillo of a
15 minute violin solo with electronics (Zwischen der kürzeste Schatten) 2 commissions from Odysseia Ensemble (totenkopf
piccolo/eb clarinet version & denkbilder), a new piece for Jaime Gonzales and Kazuko Ihara (totenkopf picc/oboe version)
and fluchtlinien-D (version for flute and electronics). Projects 2018-19 includes a commission for Tom de Cock for the
Images Sonores festival in Liége, commission for Gageego! Ensemble (Gothenburg) and a commission from XelmYa Trio
(Germany). Henrik also leads master-classes and workshops with the students at the Royal Conservatory of Brussels and has
in the past had master-classes at universities in Vigo, Barcelona, Santiago, Malmö and more. In 2017 he co-curated Odysseia
Festival in Brussels. As a board member of Levande Musik he also produces concerts with a main focus of bringing new and
relevant music from all around Europe to Gothenburg.

Henrik Denerin was born in Sweden in 1978. His education includes a bachelor and a master degree in Composition with
prof. Luca Francesconi, prof. Rolf Martinsson, Staffan Storm and Kent Olofsson at Malmö Academy of Music as well as
studies with Karlheinz Stockhausen and workshops with Per Nørgård, Bent Sørensen and musicologist Richard Toop among
others. 2007 he participated at Donaueschinger Musiktage in the student program “next generation”. Aside of composition he
has also studied Mathematical Philosophy at Ludwig-Maximilians Universität in München and Chinese language and
philosophy. He has received many grants and awards, e.g. Swedish Arts Grants Committee Working Grants,
FST composer grant, The Royal Swedish Academy of Music International Grant, STIM (Swedish Performing Rights Society)
grant, Lund University grant (2006) and others. His scores are published by babelscores.co and Svensk Musik.

Henrik is a member of FST (Society of Swedish Composers), member of the Swedish section of ISCM, voting member of
STIM (Swedish Performing Rights Society) and board member of Levande Musik in Gothenburg.
