Composer. He got his degree in Music at the Universidad Nacional de La Plata (Argentina) where he studied composition with Mariano Etkin, Gerardo Gandini and Manuel Juárez. He then continued his studies as a composer with Coriún Aharonián (Uruguay).
His music has been performed in the Americas and Europe. Some of his works received awards from different institutions such as the Universidad Nacional de La Plata (Argentina) and the Associación Catalana de Compositores (Cataluña), the Fondo Nacional de las Artes (Argentina), the Asociación Editar (Argentina), the Intendencia Municipal de Montevideo (Uruguay), the International Society for Contemporary Music World Music Days 1999 (Romania), and the International Society of Bassists (USA).
He gave seminars in Composition and Orchestration in Colombia, Switzerland, Uruguay, and Venezuela. He was Professor of Orchestration and Composition at the Centro de Estudios Avanzados de Música Contemporánea (CEAMC) in Buenos Aires, and Professor of Orchestration at the Universidad de la República (Uruguay).
He has been working at the Universidad Nacional de La Plata under the following positions: Associate Professor of Composition since 1993, Full Professor of Orchestration since 1995, and Director of research projects on Orchestration since 2002.
He is author and compiler of the book Música y timbre. El estudio de la Instrumentación desde los fenómenos tímbricos (Music and Timbre. The study of Instrumentation from timbral phenomena -2014-).
He lives in La Plata, Argentina.
