José María Ciria (Benasque, 1990), graduated cum laude from the Madrid Royal Conservatory of Music and the Robert Schumann Hochschule fur Musik Düsseldorf. His works are born as a reflection on the space, the void or the idea of boundary as the driving force of the composition process. He has received some awards and distinctions, such as the First Prize Fundación FIDAH Composition Competition, the Second Prize in the INJUVE National Awards or the Honourable Mention from the European Musical Creation Workshop, among others. His Works have been played by several ensembles and soloist, remarking collaborations with Ensemble Espai Sonor, Moscow Contemporary Music Ensemble, Ensemble Taller Sonoro, Rubik Ensemble, Iagoba Fanlo, Julián Elvira or Esteban Algora. In 2015, he premiered Crossing the States of The Word Forms, a multidisciplinary installation commissioned by Telefonica and the Colombian Government presented in ARCO (International Fair of Contemporary Art). Currently, he is a teacher of the Castilla-La Mancha Conservatory of Music and lecturer of the EFIMERAS Arquitecture and Installation Art Master, at the Madrid Polytechnic University.
