Daniela Terranova, pianist and composer, studied in Italy with Azio Corghi and Ivan Fedele, specializing abroad with Beat Furrer (Postgraduate at Universitat fur Musik und Darstellende Kunst in Graz), Toshio Hosokawa (Masterclass Son [ut] opìas, Santiago de Compostela), Javier Torres Maldonado (Catedra Manuel de Falla, Seville). He has received many awards in national and international competitions, including: I prize at the international competition Gianni Bergamo Classic Music Award (Lugano), the Special Mention for Italian music - SIAE prize (Valentino Bucchi international competition), the Incontri Internazionale Franco award Donatoni (Divertimento Ensemble, Milan), the Banca Monte dei Paschi di Siena Award (Accademia Chigiana), the 1st prize at the Kinderszenen national competition (CIDIM-2009), the 1st prize at the Vieri Tosatti national competition in Rome, the 2nd prize at the competition International ICOMS 2011. Following the selection for the Franco Donatoni International Meetings, the Divertimento Ensemble, in collaboration with Ernst von Siemens Music Foundation, commissioned her to work for ensembles and dancers, created at the Franco Parenti theater in Milan and subsequently resumed in Finland , at the Time of Music Festival, and in Hungary, at the Budapest Music Center.
 
For four years he was in residence as a composer at the Festival della Valle d'Itria, where in 2012 the opera L’Orfeo was staged with public and critical success. Images of a distance, a contemporary rewriting of Luigi Rossi's Orfeo. For the 40th year of the Festival she was commissioned, as part of the European cultural project "Emerging Classical Talent in the EU", a new work for soprano, alto sax and string orchestra: Asleep landscape, based on texts by Shakespeare. The work, which was first performed in Estonia, was reprized for a series of concerts in Cardiff, Stockholm and Kalmar.

(Orchestra of Tuscany, Florence); Universitat Mozarteum; Budapest Music Center; Time of Music Festival (Vitasaari, Finland); Festival Musique et Action au CCAM; Tallin Chamber Music Festival; Festival of the Itria Valley; ContempoArteFestival (Contempoartensemble, Florence); Philharmonic Academy of Bologna (FontanaMix Ensemble); Auditorium Parco della Musica; Dal Verme Theater; Rondò (season of concerts of the Divertimento Ensemble); Milano Musica (Repertorio Zero ensemble); Expo 2015; Chigiana Music Academy; Concert season of the Dedalo Ensemble; Giglio Theater, Lucca; Musikaliska Concert Hall, Stockholm (season of the Camerata Nordica string orchestra); Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama, Cardiff; Styria Cantat VI Festival, Graz; concert season of the Orchestra of Italian Switzerland; concert season of the Orchestra of Padua and Veneto. Graduated with full marks and honors in Classical Literature, she recently obtained the international title of PhD in Audiovisual Studies at the University of Udine (associated with Université Paris III - Sorbonne Nouvelle), with a thesis on the relationship between myth and sound dramaturgy in contemporary musical theater. His music, directed by Marco Angius, John Axelrod, Sandro Gorli, Luca Pfaff, Daniele Rustioni, has been broadcast several times by RadioTre, Vatican Radio, RSI (radio of Italian Switzerland), ORF (Österreichischer Rundfunk). His works are published by Suvini Zerboni Editions - Sugarmusic S.p.A. Milan.
