Composer, choreographer and stage director Mathieu Corajod (*1989, CH/FR) works with instruments, voice, body, space and electronics. After studying at the Bern University of the Arts (HKB), the University of Bern and IRCAM (Cursus 18-19), he founded his own interdisciplinary ensemble, Compagnie Mixt Forma, which performed at the Grande Salle of the Centre Pompidou as part of the Festival Manifeste. In 2022, he composed and directed his first opera, commissioned by the Opéra national de Lorraine. His musical works have been premiered by ensembles and musicians such as Ensemble Divertimento, Ensemble Adapter, Ensemble soyuz21 and the Bern Chamber Orchestra. His electronic works have been presented at ICST, IRCAM and SAT. His choreographic language has developed in pieces such as Axes (instrumental dance for flute and saxophone) in collaboration with dancer Pierre Lison, with whom he received a grant for emerging choreographers from the dance commission of the Beaumarchais-SACD association. His open, interactive, performative, pedagogical and site-specific works include a strong collaborative and inclusive dimension. He is a member of the CUE Creative/Union/Experience composers' collective with Giulia Lorusso and Giovanni Montianni. He has received grants from several foundations and cantons, including Nicati-de Luze, Canton Bern, Aargauer Kuratorium. Since 2015 he has held various positions at the HKB (assistant, curator, researcher, visiting professor).
