Daniela Fantechi

Daniela Fantechi (1984) is an Italian composer, researcher and musicologist. She studied in Florence, in Graz, and in Belgium. She lived in Vienna (January-March 2016) and in Graz (February- April 2017) as Artist-in-Residence. In July 2022 she get her PhD in the Arts, with a research project about piezoelectric microphones. The project has been developed between the Orpheus Instituut (Ghent) and the University of Antwerp. Since 2011, she is part of the ensemble Blutwurst, founded together with musicians involved in radical improvisation and contemporary classical music. The ensemble research is devoted to the acoustic exploration of sustained tones and slowly transformed pattern of sounds (www.blutwurst.it, soundcloud.com/blutwurst). Since 2017 she is also part of A_I Ensemble (https://www.azioneimprovvisa.com/), as the electronic performer. The ensemble consists of Theorbo, Accordion, Electric Guitar and Electronics, and it is focused on creating a unique musical identity, experimenting and investigating the possibilities offered by the combination of such different instruments. Her compositions have been performed in Italy, Austria, Spain, Portugal, France, UK, Switzerland, Belgium, Germany, Estonia and Denmark.
