Notes on this piece This virtuosic duo is based on an accordion piece of 1994, "Partota III".
In my "Ciconietta" I refer to composer Johannes Ciconia and his chanson "Le ray au soleyl", a canon in 4:3:1 proportions. At least, this is one of some possible solutions of his cryptic advice.
Note on the interpretation:
The amount of notes in many fast passages is almost exuberant and hardly playable in all details - at least at the desired tempo. The composer's conception is a buzzing, almost trembling, very resolved rhythmic texture. An insight by the philosopher of the philosopher Vilém Flusser: In the Renaissance (Johannes Ciconia, to whom the "Ciconietta" refers to, was active around 1400), people improvised over musical texts as if they were flying.
